American Red Cross Babysitting
Saturday, May 17 9:30am - 4:30pm Windham Library at
217 Windham Ctr. Rd.
Cost: $55 resident / $65 non – resident
Payment Deadline Wednesday, May 14
FOR BOYS & GIRLS must be age 11 and up
ARC Instructor: Kate Harris
Babysitting means providing safe care for infants
and children. In a Red Cross course you will learn
how to:
*Act in an emergency * Prevent accidents *Play with
children of different ages * Select safe toys and
games * Supervise children * Diaper infants * How to
feed babies * Prepare simple foods for children
Reminder: Please bring snacks, lunch and drinks as
you will not be allowed to leave the premises.
Class size is limited to 14 - First paid /
First serve

Mother Son Spectacular on May 2nd
Time for Moms and their sons
to have a night of fun!
On May 2nd from 6:30-9:00pm at the
Windham High School gymnasium, we invite moms and
their sons to participate in the following fun
activities:
Rock Wall Climbing- climb the High School climbing
wall with Mom!
Game Show Fun- play a game show with Mom against the
others!
Gym Obstacle Course- best time in obstacle course
with Mom wins prizes!
Come learn to climb the rock wall and have some
great fun with Mom! For Mom’s and son’s ages 5 to
12.
Cost is $25.00 per couple and is limited to 30
couples, register early!

Third Annual Chaffin Pond Fishing Derby
Saturday, May 10th 9-11am (Rain or
Shine) at Chaffin Pond Preserve
For boys & girls age 14 and under (must be
accompanied by a parent/adult)
Prizes for smallest & biggest fish in each age
category.
Limit 4 fish per participant - Only 50 entries
available
$5.00 entry fee per participant - deadline is

Morning Shopping Trips to North Windham for Seniors
Windham Parks & Recreation offers van transportation
for seniors on Friday mornings for shopping and
appointments in the Windham business district. A
small fee is charged. Please contact our office at
892-1905 to learn more about this service.
Canyon
Country Tour
Explore the National Canyons of Arizona and Utah
starting April 17, 2008.
This 9
day excursion will include: Oak Creek Canyon, Grand
Canyon, Kaibab National Forest, Bryce & Zion Canyon
National Parks, Scottsdale AZ, and Las Vegas NV.
Collette Travel has teamed with the Windham Parks &
Rec Department to offer this wonderful opportunity
to explore some of our National Treasures. Pricing
includes, air fare, (from Portland, ME) hotels, air
taxis, most meals, taxes and fees.
Cost per person $2,299.00 based on Double occupancy
Registration Deadline December 17. 2007. $100
deposit is required with reservations. Final payment
deadline is 2/17/08.

Windham Summerfest 2008
After the huge
success of Summerfest 2007, plans are already being
made for Summerfest 2008. If you would like to be
part of this Great Community Event, please plan on
joining us. Food, games, live entertainment and
Fireworks were just some of last year’s festival
highlights.
